Vipingo, Kilifi County – February 7, 2026
Six suspects linked to a violent robbery and burglary incident that occurred on January 28, 2026, in Mtwapa have been arrested in a security operation conducted by detectives from Kilifi South Sub-County.
According to police, the suspects were flushed out of their hideout in Vipingo following a well-coordinated intelligence-led operation. The individuals arrested during the initial raid were identified as Mustafa Majeza Juma, Bubbline Kitsao Kazungu, and Abdul Mwatondo Matano.
Authorities said a thorough search of the residence led to the recovery of six mobile phones, eight national identity cards belonging to different individuals, two Somali swords, two pangas, and a cash bail receipt in the name of Mustafa Majeza Juma.
Police further revealed that the cash bail receipt relates to an attempted robbery with violence case in which Juma had an active warrant of arrest.
Following interrogation, the three suspects reportedly led detectives to another residence where three additional accomplices — Swale Mwarauka, Mohammed Juma, and Hamisi Rama — were arrested.
A search conducted at the second hideout resulted in the recovery of 18 large rolls of cannabis sativa, a weighing scale, and Sh7,000 in cash believed to be proceeds of crime.
All six suspects were escorted to Mtwapa Police Station for processing before being arraigned in court. Detectives secured 14-day custodial orders to allow for the completion of investigations.
Police have reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying the crackdown on violent crime in the region and ensuring that those involved face the full force of the law.
