Kenya Pipeline Company Reports Sh11.6 Billion Profit and Approves Sh5.9 Billion Dividend

NAIROBI, October 14, 2026 — Kenya Pipeline Company has reported an increase in annual profit after tax to Sh11.6 billion, up from Sh10.2 billion a year earlier, as higher revenue and operating cash flow strengthened its financial performance.

According to KBC’s report on the company’s full-year results, profit rose by approximately 13%, while revenue increased by 9% to Sh39.5 billion for the year ended June 2026. The company attributed the improvement partly to higher transport volumes and operating efficiencies.

Acting Managing Director Pius Mwendwa said stronger performance in the company’s pipeline and storage operations helped offset a challenging petroleum market. Local and transit volumes were reported to have grown by 7%, while cash generated from operating activities reached Sh17.4 billion, a 34% increase.

Dividend and balance-sheet changes

The company’s board approved a first and final dividend of Sh0.32 per share, amounting to approximately Sh5.9 billion in total. A dividend approval does not necessarily mean the payment has already reached shareholders; the applicable payment timetable and eligibility arrangements should be confirmed through official company and market notices.

KBC reported that cash and cash equivalents rose to Sh20.5 billion. Total assets increased to Sh149 billion, while shareholders’ equity reached Sh119 billion. The company’s borrowings reportedly declined significantly over the reporting period.

Expansion plans

Beyond its established pipeline network, KPC is exploring additional storage and petroleum trading activities, including a proposed integrated hub at Kenya Petroleum Refineries facilities in Kipevu, Mombasa.

The company has also discussed extending regional pipeline links from Eldoret towards Kampala and Kigali. These are strategic ambitions, and their eventual cost, timing and delivery will depend on financing, regulatory arrangements and implementation decisions.

For investors, the latest results provide a picture of profitability and cash generation, but one year’s performance cannot guarantee future dividends. The full audited financial statements and official stock-exchange disclosures remain the appropriate sources for detailed investment analysis.
