Kenya’s Junior Stars are due to begin the CECAFA qualifying tournament for the 2027 CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Kigali, Rwanda, on October 10. The competition is scheduled to run through October 19.

Kenya’s group and venues

Kenya is in Group C with Tanzania and Djibouti. CECAFA says matches will be played at Kigali Pele Stadium and the FERWAFA Technical Centre. The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has published the 23-player Junior Stars squad and named head coach William Muluya.

Qualification details need clarification

The official announcements do not give the same qualification number. CECAFA’s tournament notice says the three best-placed teams qualify for the continental finals. FKF’s group-draw notice says the best two teams qualify. Until CECAFA or FKF publishes a final, consistent competition format, readers should treat the number of qualifying places as unconfirmed.

The group draw places Kenya alongside defending regional champions Tanzania and Djibouti. Supporters should check FKF and CECAFA announcements for confirmed match times and any schedule changes before planning to watch or attend.
