Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) and IYF Sign Strategic Collaboration to Boost Youth Enterprise Development in Kenya

Youth Enterprise Development Fund Acting CEO Benedict Atavachi and International Youth Fellowship Chairman Rev. Yo Han Kim signing of a three-year collaboration framework

Nairobi, Kenya – 19th February 2026: The Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF) and the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) have formalized a three-year collaboration aimed at strengthening youth enterprise development across Kenya. The partnership will implement an integrated empowerment model combining access to finance, mentorship, and leadership training to nurture resilient youth entrepreneurs.

The Collaboration Framework, signed at the YEDF Boardroom by Acting CEO Mr. Benedict Atavachi and IYF Chairman Rev. Yo Han Kim, seeks to go beyond traditional financing by integrating leadership and mindset development, incubation, mentorship, and market access support for young business owners.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Mr. Atavachi emphasized the need for holistic support in youth enterprise development:

“While access to capital is essential, financing alone does not guarantee business sustainability. This partnership combines finance, mindset training, mentorship, and market linkages to develop resilient and globally competitive youth entrepreneurs,” he said.

Rev. Yo Han Kim reaffirmed IYF’s commitment to empowering Kenyan youth:

“By combining leadership and character development with enterprise financing, we aim to significantly improve sustainability, accountability, and long-term impact for youth-led businesses,” he stated.

Under this framework, young people will benefit from:

  • Affordable start-up and expansion capital
  • Entrepreneurship and financial literacy training
  • Structured mentorship and networking platforms
  • Exposure to international markets and best practices
  • Joint research initiatives and policy engagement
  • Outreach to underserved and marginalized regions

This strategic partnership represents a renewed effort to combine capital and character as a catalyst for sustainable job creation and youth-led economic transformation in Kenya. By integrating mentorship, training, and financing, YEDF and IYF aim to create a new generation of entrepreneurs capable of driving innovation and economic growth nationwide.
