Ogamba Says Exam Materials Secured Ahead of Monday’s KPSEA and KJSEA Assessments
THIKA, October 23, 2026 — Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has said preparations are in place for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), scheduled to begin on Monday, October 26.
Speaking at Thika Technical Training Institute’s graduation ceremony, Ogamba said examination materials had been secured at designated storage centres ahead of distribution, according to Education News. He also said officials were preparing for possible disruption caused by heavy rainfall and flooding.
Weather preparations
Transport difficulties could prevent some learners and supervisors from reaching examination centres on time, particularly where roads become impassable. The government’s reported contingency preparations are intended to address such disruptions. The ministry had not announced a nationwide postponement in the remarks reported on Friday.
Schools and parents should check any local arrangements directly with school administrators and the Kenya National Examinations Council. An official timetable, rather than a forwarded social-media notice, should guide preparations.
Advice to families
Candidates should confirm their reporting instructions, pack approved materials and allow time for travel. Where flooding makes a route unsafe, parents should contact the school rather than attempt to cross flooded roads or damaged bridges.
Any changes to examination arrangements will require an official announcement. This report reflects information available on October 23 and will need updating if KNEC issues further instructions.
