Nakuru Hosts World Mental Health Day Activities in Gilgil
GILGIL, Nakuru County — The Ministry of Health says it joined the Nakuru County Government in marking World Mental Health Day in Gilgil, highlighting the importance of awareness and access to support.
The ministry reported the commemoration in an October 12 update. World Mental Health Day provides an opportunity for public institutions and communities to discuss stigma, early access to care and the pressures that can affect mental wellbeing.
Awareness events can encourage people to seek help, but they are not a substitute for sustained mental health services. Access to qualified professionals, appropriate referral pathways and continuing care are important for people who need clinical support.
Families, schools and workplaces can help by responding to concerns without ridicule or blame and by encouraging people experiencing persistent distress to consult qualified healthcare providers.
The available announcement confirms the event in Gilgil. It does not, on its own, establish that additional services, funding or treatment programmes were launched there; such claims would require separate official confirmation.
